Roy sets the scene for a dream summer—turquoise pool, golden reflections, languid silhouettes. But something is wrong. A cigarette dangles beneath a diving mask, a mop lies near a fake temple, heels slide on the wet edge. The glamour wavers, the memory blurs.
Through her images, Roy blurs the lines between reality and fiction. She captures that fragile moment when the cliché topples, when the fabricated dream reveals its cracks. And in this almost too-perfect staging, it is our own vacancy that she questions: that of bodies, roles, desires in transit.
